Lot 1322 WWII GERMAN VOLKSSTRUM GRENADE AND FUNERAL CARDS.

A very scarce example of a WWII German Volksstrum grenade made of wood and concrete. The M1945 Volksstrum grenade was a last ditch effort that proved to actually be more effective with a much greater kill radius than conventional German grenades. Once armed, they ere quite unstable and few survived the closing days of WWII. The grenade is about 13" long with a 4" cement head and a 9" wooden handle. This rare survivor is housed in a finished display case along with photos of the grenade and a frame photo showing Germans stockpiling these grenades. Also included in the lot are 9 funeral cards for German soldiers killed in action. CONDITION: grenade and other items show light wear. (02-26382/BF). NON-GUN. $500-800.
